Krzysztof
Wegrzyn was born in Zakopane (100 km from Cracow
) in 1954. He graduated from Technical School
studying Making String Instruments in Nowy Targ.
He broadened his technical knowledge in the workshop
of Franciszek Mardula in Zakopane, who is consider
a Master in this field in Poland.

Krzysztof
Wegrzyn has participated in many international
as well as Polish violin makers' competitions. For
example he was in Moscow, Sofia, Cremona, Mittenwald,
Nahod and Hradec Kralove.In 1991 he took part
in Henryk Wieniawski
|
International
luthiers' Competition in Poznan where he reached
the final stage. In 1994, during Piotr Tchaikovsky
International Luthiers' Competition in Moscow,
he received 6th prize in violin category. He
was also among the winners in Zdzislaw Schulc
National Luthiers' Competition in Poznan., firstly
in 1987 - the 5th prize and in 1989 - 1rst and
2nd prize. In 1994 in W. Kaminski Luthiers' Competition
in Poznan he received 2nd prize in 3 violin category
and 3rd prize in 1 violin category. In 1994 he
was awarded for the highest violin making values
by Polish Violin Makers Association in Warsaw.
